10.151   Faith

10.151 శ్రద్ధ భక్తులు  

1 With faith the fire is kindled; with faith the oblation is offered up. With speech I testify to faith upon the head of happiness.

1. శ్రద్ధ వలన అగ్ని ప్రజ్వలింపబడుతోంది. భక్తిశ్రద్ధలతో యజ్ఞంలో ఆహుతులు ఇవ్వడం వలన దేవతలు హవిస్సును స్వీకరిస్తున్నారు. నా వాక్కుతో శ్రద్ధా భక్తులను కీర్తిస్తాను.

2 Faith, make this that I have said dear to the man who gives, dear to the man who wishes to give, dear, O faith, among lavish sacrificers.

2. శ్రద్ధా నేను చెప్పేది దాతకు, దానము చేయ తలంపు గలవానికి, దాన కంకణము ధరించేవారికి అందజేయి

3 As the gods established faith among the formidable Asuras,¹ so establish what we have said among lavish sacrificers.

3. దేవతలు అసురులయందు ¹ నమ్మకం ఉంచినట్లు, మేము చెప్పేది దాన శూరులకు అందజేయి

4 The gods who sacrifice and are guarded by Vayu honour faith; with heartfelt intent they honour faith. And with faith they find wealth.

4. సర్వ వ్యాపకమైన వాయు దేవుని వలన రక్షింపబడి, యజ్ఞములను ఆచరించే దేవతలు శ్రద్ధ భక్తులను ఆదరిస్తారు. తమ హృదయాలలో శ్రద్ధ భక్తులకు ఉన్నత స్థానం ఇస్తారు. తద్వారా ఎనలేని సంపదలు పొందుతారు.

5 We call to faith at morning, to faith near midday, to faith when the sun sinks down. Faith, establish faith in us.²

5. ఉదయము, మధ్యాహ్నము, సూర్యాస్తమయము, అనగా సకల కాలములయందు శ్రద్ధ భక్తులతో ఉంటాము. అందుకై శ్రద్ధా దేవత మమ్ములను అనుగ్రహించు గాక.

NOTES

వివరణ

1. The Asuras are the enemies of the gods, the ancient gods, though perhaps not yet the demons they are in later parts of the Vedas. For the way in which the gods establish faith (in the gods) in the demons, see 10.124.

1. వేదాలలో దానవులు, రాక్షసుల ప్రస్తావనకు ముందు అసురులు దేవతల సనాతనమైన శత్రువులుగా చెప్పబడ్డారు. దేవాసురుల పరస్పర సంబంధము గూర్చి 10.124 లో వివరింపబడినది.

2. An almost certainly intended ambiguity: make us have faith, and make others (the generous worshippers) have faith in us (in the priests).

2. ఇది ధ్రువము అట్లే సంశయమాత్మకము: మాకు శ్రద్ధా భక్తలు కలిగించు. అలాగే మా కరుణామయ భక్తులు ఋత్విక్కులమైన మాయందు శ్రద్ధా భక్తులు కలిగి యుండెదరు గాక.
